K9 Nose Work – Enhanced Skill Development for All Levels

The Inquisitive Canine is proud to announce we are hosting K9 Nose Work® founder Jill Marie O’Brien for a fun-filled K9 Nose Work workshop! Both working and auditor spots will be available. 

Workshop Outline 

This working seminar is geared towards all trial levels (dogs should be on all 3 NACSW odors). Jill will address practical handling challenges with post search group discussion and analysis. This is a great opportunity to work in a new environment under varying search conditions.

Workshop Learning Objectives:

  • Enhanced teamwork
  • Finding the balance between independent searching and handler directed searches
  • Know when and how to step-in without inhibiting the dog’s motivation in the search (is it really needed)
  • Manage handler trial stress
  • Improve handler understanding of trial readiness whether entering your first trial or Summit League
  • KEEP THE ACTIVITY FUN!!!

Workshop Information

  • Location: The Santa Barbara Humane Society – 5399 Overpass Road Santa Barbara, CA 93111.
  • Parking: back parking lot for working spot attendees, street parking for auditors.
  • Meals: Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided, lunch is on your own. Attendees can bring their own food. There are restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

Cost 

  • Working spots: $210 per dog/handler team through November 14, 2019, $225 thereafter.
  • Auditor spots: $100 per person through November 14, 2019, $110 thereafter.
